I just got back from a trip to Mumbai, India. Below are some pictures of the trip:
This first picture is of the airport in Newark, NJ where I’m based. It is always
horrendously jam-packed pretty crowded:
Then, after I walked through the terminal, I got to my gate (C-138) and my airplane was there. Here is a picture of the Boeing 777 that I’ll be flying to Mumbai. I’ve flown the Boeing 727, 737, DC-9, MD-80 and now the Boeing 777. This is my favorite airplane of all. Holding close to 300 people and flying nearly 600 miles per hour it is a technological marvel and a joy to pilot.
OK now we’ve taken off and are up in the air. For those of you who fly, according to the picture below how high are we and how fast are we going? Take the polls below just
so I can laugh at your answers for fun :).
(The correct answers are at the bottom of this post.)
And here is one of my co-pilot on this trip (we fly with 1 Captain and 3 Co-pilots). Not a great picture:
Here is my view out of the office window: this is sunrise over Sweden on the way to Mumbai.
Now we’ve landed in Mumbai and we’re riding to the hotel. While we’re in a nice car for a taxi one of the main methods of transportation is the “Tuk-Tuks”, a
very scary really exciting tricycle type open air car.
Think marketing is limited to the United States? Every time we stop at a stop sign a young boy or girl attempts to sell us something:
Now we get to the hotel, and are met with
bowl-bangers talented musicians in the lobby:
Here is an Indian Door Greeter (all people must go through security before entering the hotel, as you can see behind the greeter).
Gorgeous hotel decoration:
Hideous little Semi-cute Indian god-art.
Stairs leading down to the restaurant area:
Answer to the poll questions: we are flying at 290 knots (on the left side of the instrument) and 33,000 feet (Flight Level 330–on the right side of the instrument).
So that was my trip to India. Here are some questions for you:
1–I’m new at photography and just have a basic digital camera; what should I do differently in taking pictures?
2–What additional things would you like to see in my travels?
3–Where have you traveled to lately?
